With the “Simple Line”
our sixteen year old Allan
makes an adventure
reliving high school
the ups, the downs the homework
early nostalgia
Whenever I find a journal-style webcomic I always love to read them. Peeking into someone’s life is one of the nice little pleasures the internet gets to provide. That’s why I started this blog. I wanted to combine my voyeur/exhibitionist nature with my love for sequential art.
There isn’t anything too special about allancomic.com but I’ve been very jealous of this comic. I read through the entire archive, and I said, “Why didn’t I do that in high-school?” I drew pictures all the time in school, but I never thought to make a comic, and back then I never even thought of a journal comic, so I’m intrigued when I see how someone can transcribe his day in a few lines, with some great illustrations. I’m getting to vicariously live my life through Allan’s comic and I think it’s wonderful.
The art is juvenile, obviously anime/manga influenced, and in some stages glorified stick figures, but there are a few artistic gems that shows while Allan is learning how to tell his story, he’s also learning how to improve his art as well.
I’m hoping once I get my journal-strip in a publishable format you’ll see that i’ll start taking cues from this kid. He’s teaching this old bird some new tricks.

WOW you must be retarded? manga/anime influenced??? owell, I saw your own stuff and you can barely hold a pen to paper, so to speak, so obviously you would have no idea what you are talking about. this comment will probably be deleted too because you cant handle the truth.

It’s always easy to be a critic.
