Someone got a Wii
and I’ve been playing it lots
way too much even!

Smash bros, Mario Kart
and lots of Wii Sports

all weekend I played
and now I’m so very sore
from being lazy

I visit an open mic
to watch the people

I’d describe the show
But I would be insulting
and that is unfair

So to be kinder
I enjoyed the company
and also the wine

On the First Wednesdays
Jacksonville has it’s “Art Walk”
it’s a lot of fun

People drink for free
and look in some galleries
and drink in public

Mostly scenester kids
and the aging hipster types
think I’m the latter?

So I’ll visit friends
some had their art on display
it makes me jealous

While I wander ’round
I pass out mini-comix
it startles people.

0008 The Weekend Recap

Friday we were out
at the “9th and Main” venue
guess where it could be?

Shawn played with friends
and I got to play a bit
and rocked my socks off

We hung out til late
talking to melissa’s friends
cool seattle dudes

Saturday was planned
Melissa’s garden party
it was a success

playing more music
and talking to friendly folks
it was so zen-like

Quaint Utopia
life was peaceful and serene
I had a great time

We reconviened soon
to Melissa’s porch party
and had so much fun

Shawn was a machine
playing almost all requests
and rockin’ ‘em out

I was so worn out
I slept through all of sunday
but I called my mom!

* Melissa totally said that not me! I might have been thinking it though

I went out last night
to see my friend Shawn Lightfoot
play some great music

It was a great night
me playing my tambourines
for a few free beers

I made some new friends
and reaquainted as well
it was a great time

The girl did sing well
but her soft voice and picking
made me so sleepy

The rockin’  part came
with Arvid on EVERYTHING
he rocks stuff with strings

sitar to guitar
six or a few dozen strings
he can play it all

I was quite lucky
to play my favorite song
Sweet Em’ly Brown

There’s a nostalgia
when I shop at gas stations
working there before

I worked really hard
for idiotic shoppers
it’s how I got here

I’d draw these comics
about stupid dialogues
between me and them

this one’s different
because i’m the customer
and the clerk is rude
